Dennis Messner is the author/illustrator of The Unpetables book series, including The Unpetables, The Unpetables (Book 2): Unpetable in the City, and The Unpetables (Book 3): Call of The Weird. 

Dennis grew up in rural Missouri writing and drawing stories about animal misfits and underdogs. But he flunked school art and received marks for exhibiting "little to no self-control."

Later, Dennis combined his love of misfits and short attention span to create, storyboard, write, design, and/or produce animated TV shows for Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, Disney, and DreamWorks. 

Dennis lives in Los Angeles, California, and, when not doodling, is probably traveling, reading out-of-print manga, feeding a crow, or eating a potato.
